individual therapy

My practice is dedicated to providing trauma-informed support to women, girls (16+), and gender-diverse individuals (16+) who are surviving:

  • intimate partner violence (domestic violence or spousal abuse)

  • sexual violence

  • technology-facilitated violence (online hate, harassment, non-consensual distribution of intimate images)

  • pregnancy loss (miscarriage, medical termination, abortion)

  • relationship difficulties, messy friendships, or lack of boundaries

  • lack of acceptance, support and care because of 2SLGBTQIA+ identity

  • grief and loss

  • big life changes or new limitations

  • parenting or supporting someone else who has experienced trauma

Everyone has the right to ‘author’ their own life story in a way that feels meaningful for them. I will support you in finding the words, the courage, and the creativity to revise the stories that have been imposed upon you by circumstances, society, or personal history. (For some folks, this means actually putting pen to paper, and for others, it’s talk therapy.)

Together, we question assumptions, practice self-compassion, and carefully unpack what surfaces as you reflect on your own experiences and beliefs. This could look like:

  • engaging with your inner world and expressing your honest thoughts and feelings

  • realizing that you matter and your needs and choices are important

  • questioning what you think is true, and disrupting what you think you know

  • owning your truths and accepting the parts of yourself that aren’t always easy to translate or embrace

  • gaining insight into the relationships that matter to you

  • validating your feelings and dealing with issues arising from past experiences

  • developing a personal practice that enables you to engage in self-reflection and make better decisions

  • strengthening your coping skills and gaining confidence to navigate difficult situations

  • imagining your future with intention and agency.

You may be surprised by what you learn about yourself. This process is about recognizing patterns and identifying possibilities, all while understanding that a path to healing is not linear. Every step, every breakthrough, and every moment of insight is a triumph.

If you’re interested, we can also incorporate some expressive arts into our work together. This could mean creating some personal artwork as part of memory-making or just exploring what can’t be expressed in words.

After trauma, we need space to put what we’ve experienced into words, and we need companionship in the process. We need help to piece our stories and our lives back together.
